Overview
Virtual Credit Cards (VCCs) are digital payment methods provided by certain booking channels (OTA’s). These cards allow channels to handle guest payments and invoicing directly, streamlining your payment collection process.
Understanding VCCs
What is a Virtual Credit Card?
A VCC is a digital payment method that:
Is generated by booking channels for specific reservations
Contains a pre-loaded balance matching the reservation amount
Has specific activation and deactivation dates
Can typically only be charged once
VCC information
Depending on the booking channel, you may see:
Balance: The amount available to charge
Activation date: The earliest date you can process the payment
Deactivation date: The last date the VCC remains valid
Payment processing
Most channels recommend processing the full VCC balance in a single transaction
Always check the specific channel's VCC payment policies
You cannot charge the VCC after its deactivation date
Process payments only within the activation and deactivation date range
Balance updates
VCC details may change if a reservation is modified or cancelled
Some channels don't automatically update the VCC balance in Little Hotelier after partial charges
