Customise your Calendar so the details that matter most to your property appear at a glance. You can change what shows on each reservation and how you open a reservation summary.
Note: Calendar settings are saved for the whole property for all users, not for each individual user. Only admin users can see the settings button and change these settings.
To change your calendar settings, log in to Little Hotelier on a desktop or mobile web browser. The mobile app reflects your settings, but you cannot change them from the app.

Go to Calendar.
Click the settings button (gear icon) at the top of the calendar.
In Calendar settings, update your preferences. For example, select Show heart for repeat guest and Show booking channel to spot returning guests and booking sources at a glance.

How the repeat guest heart works
The repeat guest heart shows a heart icon on a reservation when the guest is a repeat guest. This setting is off by default. To turn it on, select Show heart for repeat guest in Calendar settings.
The heart icon checks the e-mail address in the Primary Contact section of a reservation, not the Guests tab. If the primary contact is a travel agent, the heart icon may incorrectly show the booking as a repeat guest.

To set how you open a reservation summary:
Go to Calendar.
Click the settings button (gear icon) at the top of the calendar.
Under View reservation details, select how you want to open a reservation summary.

Full reservation overview displayed on click: The summary is not shown. Clicking a reservation opens the full reservation record.
FAQs
Where do I find the settings for my calendar?
Find your calendar settings by clicking the gear button at the top of the Calendar.
Go to Calendar.
Look in the top right of the calendar, to the left of the Room closure button.
Click the gear button to open Calendar settings.
Why can’t I see the settings button or change my calendar settings?
Only admin users can see the settings button (gear icon) and change calendar settings. If you are a general user, you see the updated calendar view but cannot see the settings button or change the settings. To change your calendar settings, ask an admin user at your property.
💡 You can only change your calendar settings on a desktop or mobile web browser. The Little Hotelier app shows your settings but you cannot change them from the app.
What do the icons and colours on a reservation mean?
Each reservation on your calendar can show icons and colours that tell you about the booking at a glance. What appears depends on your calendar settings.
Heart icon: the guest is a repeat guest
Notepad icon: the reservation has a guest comment or staff note
Moon icon: the number of nights for the stay
Booking channel logo: the channel the booking came from, for example Direct or an OTA
Payment status bar: a coloured bar down the side of the reservation. Red means unpaid, green means paid
Guest headcount: the number of adults, children and infants
💡 The reservation colours use lighter shades and higher contrast to make them easier to read.
Why doesn’t the heart icon show for a repeat guest?
A few reasons the heart might not show:
This setting is turned off by default. Go to Calendar settings and make sure Show heart for repeat guest is selected (turned on)
The heart checks the e-mail in the Primary Contact section of a booking, not the Guests tab
The heart only shows on bookings created after the feature went live on 28 October 2026. If the booking was created before then, the heart will not show
💡 The heart appears automatically for repeat guests. There is currently no way to manually mark a guest as a repeat guest.
