What are revenue reports?
Revenue reports provide a snapshot of your property’s financial performance over set periods of time. Little Hotelier allows you to run revenue reports without date limitations so you can view past and projected (future) revenue.
Types of revenue reports
Little Hotelier offers seven different revenue report types to help you analyse various aspects of your business performance:
Summary: Provides a consolidated view of your property’s financial position, including all reservations with or without room allocation
Room Type: Breaks down revenue by room type, helping you identify popular options and optimise pricing strategies
Room: Offers detailed revenue analysis for each physical room
Room Rate: Breaks down revenue by room rate, helping you develop effective marketing and pricing strategies
Channel: Analyses revenue from different booking sources
Taxes: Provides a breakdown of all taxes collected
Extras: Shows total revenue from Extra selling items and services offered at your property
Running a revenue report
Navigate to Reports
Click on Strategic > Revenue
Select one of the seven report types (Summary, Room Type, Room, Room Rate, Channel, Taxes and Extras)
Under Search by, select to search by Stay date or Booked-on date
Select date filters (Date from and Date to)
Leave the Revenue includes tax option unchecked if you wish to exclude tax in the report
Click Run Report
Click Export to create and download reports as a .CSV file

* This report item is only displayed when the report is filtered by Stay date
Total is not provided for the average metrics (ADR, Lead Time, LoS)
Report item | Description | Notes/calculation |
ADR | ADR or Average Daily Rate measures the average price paid per room. | Calculation: Rooms Revenue / Total Number of Rooms Sold (or Occupied). |
Cancelled Reservations | The number of reservations made through this channel that was cancelled within the selected date range. | Stay date: Includes cancelled room rates only for dates within the selected range (e.g., Dec 1-31). Booked-on date: Includes rates for all cancellations made during the selected booking period (e.g., reservations booked Dec 1-31). |
Channel | The name of the connected channel. | Direct is for online bookings made from the Little Hotelier booking engine. Extranet is for bookings created manually in Little Hotelier. |
Extras | The total revenue from extra selling items. | Stay date include extras revenue, with extras categorised as Per Booking, Per Room, Per Person posting on the reservation's first night. If that first night falls outside the report's date range, those extras are excluded from calculations. Credit card surcharges are excluded from all calculations. |
Lead Time | It shows on average how many days in advance this room or room type is booked before the check-in date. | Calculation: Total Lead Time / Total Number of Bookings. Booked-on date: Averages time between Booked-on and Check-in dates for all reservations made during the selected range. |
LoS | LoS or Length of Stay is the average length of time that the guests stay at your property for a certain period. | Calculation: Total Length of Stay / Total Number of Bookings. Stay date: Averages length of stay for reservations with at least one night in the selected range. Booked-on date: Averages length of stay for all reservations booked during the selected range. |
Nights | The total number of room nights that are sold/occupied within the selected date range. |

*Occupancy | The percentage of available rooms occupied for the specified period. Room closure is excluded from the calculation. | Occupancy is only displayed when the report is filtered by Stay date. Calculation: Occupied Room Nights / Total Available Room Nights. Whereas, Total Available Room Nights = Total Room Nights (number of rooms x number of days) less Closed Room Nights (number of nights in a Room Closure). |
Rate Plan | The name of the rate plan. | Custom pertains to the reservations that were not assigned with a Rate Plan and given a rate manually. |
Reservations | The number of reservations that meets the report criteria. | Stay date: Counts reservations with at least one night in the selected date range. Booked-on date: Counts all reservations booked within the selected date range. |
Revenue | The total revenue of the Room / Room Type / Rate Plan and any extra person (Adult, Child, Infant) charges. | Stay date: Includes room revenue only for dates within the selected range (e.g., Dec 1-31). Booked-on date: Includes revenue from all reservations booked during the selected period (e.g., booked Dec 1-31). Extra items and credit card surcharges are excluded. When "revenue includes tax" is checked, taxable service charge tax is included, but fixed amount taxes are excluded from room calculations. |
*RevPar | RevPar (Revenue Per Available Room) is the daily room revenue generated per available room. Room Closures are excluded from the calculation. | Calculation: Room Revenue / Total Rooms Available. RevPar is only displayed when the report is filtered by Stay date. |
Room | The name of the actual physical room. |
