Understanding restrictions
Inventory restrictions are often combined with discounted rates to help you maximise occupancy and grow your bookings across your connected channels.
Not all channels support receiving restrictions from Little Hotelier. If a channel doesn't receiving restrictions from Little Hotelier, check the channel's extranet to manage them directly in the channel.
Available restrictions
Stop sell: Closes availability for specific dates
Closed to arrivals (CTA): Prevents check-ins on specific dates
Closed to departures (CTD): Prevents check-outs on specific dates
Min. length of stay (MinLOS): Sets the minimum number of nights required for a booking
Max. length of stay (MaxLOS): Sets the maximum number of nights for a booking
Managing restrictions in the inventory grid
Navigate to Distribution > Inventory
Use the dropdown menu to select your restriction type (Stop sell, CTA, CTD, Min stay, Max stay)
Make changes by:
Updating individual cells for specific dates
Using the Bulk update or quick bulk update lightning button for multiple changes
Click Save
To view channel-specific restrictions, expand the room rate by clicking the down arrow.
Apply a stop sell on specific channels
Navigate to Distribution > Inventory
Expand a room rate to see linked channel rates
Switch to Stop Sell view
Select dates to apply the stop sell restriction
Click Save
Setting a release period
Navigate to Rooms and rates > Rate plans
Click on an existing rate plan or add a new rate plan
Enter a value (number of days) in the Release period field
Click Save
If the channel doesn't support a restriction, check the channel extranet to manage it directly.
Setting default restrictions for new rate plans
⚠️ They won't apply to existing rate plans or dates already in the inventory grid. They will only apply to new rate plans and new dates.
Navigate to Rooms and rates > Rate plans
Click on an existing rate plan or add a new rate plan
Under Restrictions and Inclusions, set your:
Default minimum stay
Default maximum stay
Release period
Inclusions
Click Save
💡 If you change these defaults on an existing rate plan, only new dates added to the inventory grid going forward will be affected. To update restrictions for existing dates, edit them directly in the inventory grid.
