Set up derived rates

Updated over 6 months ago

What are derived rates?

Derived rates help you save you time by reducing the need to manually update prices across all your booking channels. They’re useful when managing multiple rate plans, making it more efficient to adjust pricing. For example, you can derive these rate plans from your standard/best available rate (BAR):

  • Non-refundable - decrease by 10%

  • Early bird discounts - decrease by 20%

  • Breakfast included -increase by $20

When you update the price of a linked rate, derived rates will be automatically adjusted. Setting up derived rates at the rate plan level affects all associated room rates, including room rates, channel room rates and direct booking rates.

You can override derived pricing when needed to create a dynamic pricing strategy that maximises revenue across channels while saving time on manual updates.

Set up a derived rate plan

  1. Navigate to Rooms and rates > Rate plans

  2. Click the rate and select Edit

  3. Under Pricing details > Rate setup, use the Derived from drop-down menu to select your base rate

  4. In Adjust daily rates by, choose your adjustment method (Amount or Percentage) Enter your value and select Increase by or Decrease by
