Can I override a derived rate?
Yes, you can override a derived rate. You might want to override derived rates to set a specific price for:
Particular dates (holidays or peak seasons)
Specific channels (for example when running a flash sale on a certain channel)
Why am I seeing a rate being derived twice?
If you notice a rate being derived twice, first check that the percentage or amount adjustment is set correctly in the rate configuration. If the value is correct but still appears to be applied twice or incorrectly, you may have derived rates configured at two different levels (such as having a derived rate plan and a derived channel rate).
To remove derived rates for a channel rate:
Under Rate setup
On the Adjust daily rates by drop-down menu
Select Keep rates the same
How do I change from a derived room rate to a derived rate plan?
To switch from deriving at the room rate level to the rate plan level:
Create or edit the rate plan under Rate setup, select Derive daily rates
In the rooms rate’s Pricing settings, click on Revert to rate plan derived pricing
Understanding error messages
Cannot use rate plan derivation settings when a room type has been assigned to a rate plan more than once
This error occurs when a room type is assigned to a rate plan multiple times. For example, if you have two room rates called "Double room - Standard". Each rate plan and room rate must have a unique name.
Rate plan derived pricing settings cannot be used
This error appears when trying to assign a room type to a rate plan that is derived from another rate plan not linked to the room type.
Examples:
You have two rate plans: "Standard" and "Non-refundable"
The "Non-refundable" rate plan is derived from the "Standard" rate plan with a 10% discount
You create a new room type "Triple room"
When trying to assign the "Triple room" to your "Non-refundable" rate plan, you receive the error. Solution: First assign the "Triple room" to your "Standard" rate plan, then assign it to your "Non-refundable" rate plan.
Rate setup limited to manual channel rate pricing due to Channel rate pricing mode being enabled
This message appears in the Rate setup when an internal setting called Channel rate pricing mode is activated. This setting makes the Rate setup “manual” by default for channel rates, preventing derived rates setup.
If you see this error message but want to set up derived rates, contact our support team who can disable the Channel rate pricing mode.
