Updated over 7 months ago

What is KassenSichV?

The Kassensicherungsverordnung (KassenSichV) is a German regulation that requires all merchants operating cash registers in Germany to connect to a certified Technical Security System (TSS). This helps safeguard business transactions and prevent tax evasion.

For more information about KassenSichV, visit the KassenSichV website.

KassenSichV compliance in Little Hotelier

Little Hotelier has partnered with fiskaly GmbH to ensure properties operating in Germany maintain cash register compliance. Compliant German properties will have:

  • Events impacting cash register transactions shared with fiskaly GmbH for audit logging in real time

  • QR codes included in new invoices for reservations following a ‘fiscal event’ (a payment or a refund), indicating that fiskaly GmbH TSS has been applied

Setting up cash register with TSS

All German Little Hotelier properties have cash register compliance enabled by default.

However, you’ll need to complete the following:

  1. Accept Little Hotelier’s Terms and Conditions during onboarding

  2. Add the appropriate tax identifiers and set tax rate types outlined in German tax settings

  3. Once completed, your Little Hotelier cash register will sync all transactions to Fiskaly’s TSS in real time

  4. New invoices for reservations following a fiscal event will include a QR code for auditing purposes.

Note: Please allow a few minutes for TSS to add the QR code to an invoice. The invoice cannot be downloaded or regenerated until the code has been added.

Downloading extracts and log files

  1. Navigate to Setup > General Ledger (only available for German with TSS setup)

  2. Click on the Cash Register Data Extracts tab

  3. Enter a date range

  4. Click Generate export

  5. Download the exported files:

  1. DsfinV-K extracts

  2. TSS Log File

If multiple extracts and log files exist for the selected period, they will be listed individually for download.

Frequently asked questions

  • Orders: Equivalent to reservations in Little Hotelier

  • Receipt: Equivalent to payments/refunds

What happens to data generated before enabling cash register compliance?

Historical data created in Little Hotelier prior to enabling cash register compliance will not be fiscalised.

What happens to data when I stop using Little Hotelier?

  • You won’t be able to access invoices after your Little Hotelier subscription ends

  • The TSS is disabled when your account ends

  • We recommend downloading all fiscalised data before ending your subscription and storing it for potential audits

Why can’t I download or generate an invoice?
If a fiscal event recently occurred, you may need to wait a few minutes before downloading or generating an invoice. This delay allows time for the invoice’s QR code to be generated.
